• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have had two "call home" crashes when starting to edit a GP line from an ade3 file sent to me by a friend.

Jon should have the error.

I cannot edit lines with 0.0.77.

1. Create a new line (I created a long line with many points, but it acts the same with all lines I have created). Width was 1 ft. I used the PatternedLines 40F texture, and Single Yellow line style. Click OK in Editor.

2. Right click line and choose Edit Object. Instead of being displayed as it was originally, only two vertices are displayed at the bottom of the 40F line texture.

3. Trying to vertically resize these two vertices (in case there are more underneath them) results in the box "Object cannot be resized any smaller along selected axis". This is whether I try to make it smaller or larger.

Hope this helps,

I have the same problem. It is necessary to re-select the "Line Pattern Style":

Just discovered it myself. I must have broken something a few days ago when I attempted top have ADE_GP preserve line type across vertex changes.

It appears line length is being reset to 0 somewhere in the process.

It doesn't always happen, sometimes it is displayed correctly on entry.

I have another problem.

How can I remove the backing texture from an existing line?

This is the line:

I cleared the backing width but the backing texture remained:

When compiled, the original backing was displayed in FSX.

Clearing the backing texture width should do it. But, I can see that it doesn't.

It's on the list.

If you had entered 0 as the line width, all would have been well. (I was ignoring the text box being cleared.) As well, had you re-edited the line, you would have seen that the backing texture entries were unchanged.

Now (0.0.78), if you either enter 0 for or clear the backing width, both the width entry and backing texture selection are cleared.

0.0.78 also fixes the line editing issue above.
