• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi everyone,

I am trying a very simple procedure but it's not happening for me !
All i want is to position an helipad at my house coordinates.
When it's time to press compile, nothing is happening ??
What step am i missing ?

Any help will be really really appreciated !

Could be any number of things but let's start with a simple question, is your house near enough to an airport that exists in FSX so that you can simply add the helipad to the airport? If not, then you would need to create a new airport. It can be done easily enough but there is a little more to it.

You are right, i need to create a new airport so i have the luxury of departing from my very own location. I have been successful into compiling, since the message was not mentionning any error. Also, if i select go to airport, my new airport is showing in the list !! But nothing at the visual level, just trees of the main FSX scenery. Almost there !! What am i missing to get what i am drawing in fsx planner to be viewed in FSX ?
 
If you are placing your new airport on 'virgin' ground then you will need a Terrain Airport Background polygon to flatten and exclude autogen. FSX Planner does not provide a way to do that. You would need to use an alternative tool such as SBuilderX. Airport Design Editor can also place airport background polys. You need as well to make sure that the flatten is at the same altitude as your new airport and that altitude is consistent with the area you have the airport located in (if you want to avoid it being in a hole or on a hill)
