• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Good Day, Iam am running the latest version of ADE with all the HFs in place. When i try to updat the Library Objectr using the tool update option. I get the can't find base file error shown in the attached snip. If i click ok to close the message box, i then get an update complete message. The option for updating stock indexes work fine. Any thoughts on correcting thius. Many thnks.

Just post a screenshot of the option that is not working. It's possible it relates to the base file change ASOBO made in SU6?

If it is this option

Then I don't see that error. I am not sure if that option is effective but what version of the sim are you using and what is the path to Content?

Hmmm- let me look at the code and see what is going on. Quite likely I left something hanging or abandoned ;)

Not quite what I thought it is. Go to the ADE installation folder and open the F20 folder is there a file named adeObjectList_Base.dat ?? that error arises from this file not being found.

I suspect there are some other issues at play here but this one causes a failure at the first hurdle

Looks like that file was in a hot fix but did not get into the package. For the moment that function is not effective. I want to check that the code behind it is valid and safe

I know this is an old post, however I was having the same problem. On my Test/Dev machine, I am running steam version. I selected Steam at the initial setup, however, looking at the adeObjectList.dat ( not the _base) it had entries for |Official|fs-base\...... In the steam version this folder is actually Official\steam\fs-base.... I backed up the file, then did a global replace Official| with Official\steam| and it was able to find everything......
