• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 ILS in ADE

So i believe i read somewhere in the forum ADE is unable to compile ILS approachs, at least it fails on me every single time. I read early in the forum from last year if i clicked approach mode and deleted the approach paths this may enable it but alas it doesn't work. When i compile and edited default airport, it removes the ILS frequencies from the MFD in the G3000 however i can still manually input the frequency using charts, why is this and how does ADE remove the ILS frequency in the FMC. Is there a way of compiling an edited default airport keeping the ILS frequencies available in the FMC options at all? (Using the citation Longitude).

Secondly, editing a default airports seems to remove any flatten polygons asobo built on that default airport. Any reason to this and anyway of this not happerning so i don't have to manually flatten the airport in ADE?

On ILS - I am actually working on these now (The actual ILS/GS/DME Navaid). Approach code is planned for review. Not sure about the issue of frequencies but they are tied up with handling the navaid correctly

I am not sure about your second question. Are you working with two way editing?

Ok, ILS i have never fiddled with before on FSX, but with MSFS it removes the frequencies if i edit a default airport, loading a default airport in ADE there is no ILS in the file but there is in game.
Secondly i mean if i simply edit some parking codes or raiduses and compile, it seems that airport then becomes very UNFLAT; apron areas that were once flat now have slopes all over them. I am not two way editing, i've briefly looked at MSFS in game dev mode and it just seems to complex for me. Another issue with default airports is jetway links totally disappear after editing them even though they are shown in ADE.

As far as delete records are concerned please look here: http://scruffyduck.org.uk/ade_2020_help/DeleteRecordsandExclusions.html we are not entirely sure which work and which don'

ADE by default does not set either of the ILS records to true. It seems that your findings are that these don't have the expected results

We are working on the missing jetway links with Asobo right now. It's a known issue which has been around for a while

I think the jetway links disappear in the DevMode, but if the project is compiled, added to the Community folder, and the sim re-started without DevMode, the jetways appear. Asobo bug.

I did run through that page to try to get an understanding of what i had to do. I guess i will wait for an update that includes ILS help. Can you explain what exactly is the RAW data view; does this affect the original DEFAULT airport file or the ADE package you are working on? Sorry for again numpty questions but i better ask so i can learn as i go.

The Raw Data View is badly named for MSFS. But it provides a property grid to edit the properties of elements on the airport. Earlier versions of ADE have a property dialog which is more user friendly but there is a huge amount of work needed to bring all the new elements into it

So its really just an editor and it does not have any effect on the default airport file but only changes attribute values for the package you are working on
