• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Importing flight plan

When importing the flight plan from MSFS, I use the departureRunwayIndex and arrivalRunwayIndex attributes to identify the runways that were selected for departure and arrival in the flight plan creation screen, before starting the flight. What is strange is that departureRunwayIndex is always -1, which probably means "undefined", whereas it works fine for the arrival runway.
Whatever I do, it is always -1, even though I am 100% sure I selected a runway for departure before starting the flight.
I also tried with the originRunwayIndex attribute and it is exactly the same.

If any of you has an idea...

Thanks,
Eric

When importing the flight plan from MSFS
can you clarify the process you're using here? Are you twiddling some fs9gps variables and reading others to get these values, or are you looking at the JS object returned by Coherent.call("GET_FLIGHTPLAN") ? (or maybe something else entirely and I've mis-read your question).

No, you didn't misunderstand my question, you are right. I am using the JS object returned by Coherent.call("GET_FLIGHTPLAN")

Open the GPS unit in your panel and view the Flight Plan listing page ,
see attached shot ,

WptIndex.jpg

See if the specified runway is shown and it's Index number.
The Orange line in above shot is current active waypoint.

Cheers

Hi Karol,
Following your advice, I just opened the VFR Map. As soon as this was done, the runway was read correctly. Otherwise, it doesn't.
