• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Just adding a few arc, as you do, and, suddenly a generated arc was nowhere near the helper

Helper position:

Generated arc (off to the right):

Saved and reloaded and the helper has moved:

This is the second time in as many days that this has happened,

Roby,

Do you also find that sometimes when you click on the rotation handle it jumps counter-clockwise?

I know that the handle will sometimes go off in the wrong direction. I will need to check the code as to why the arc sometimes throws the GP line out.

It will certainly be some days before I get to work on this now.

It seems as though the action of generating the GP line moves the arc before genertation but doesn't update its position on screen.

Very likely George. I am going to re-write all the code associated with arcs etc as soon as I have time

Again.

After save/reload

This time I noticed that there had been an autosave about this time. Could this have any bearing on the issue?

Log attached.

Edit. I know another user who had offset arc helpers.

I am hoping to get a bit of time to look at ADE over the next couple of days. We get the keys to the new house on the 28th.

I have just made a new beta installer available. I plan to use the on-line updater for the beta now and provide an update each time Don makes a new version of the GP Library. I want to move updating of ADE to my control again!

There are no fixes in the new installer other than to add texture control files to the fone home packages so Don is not always asking for them!

I am using this as a baseline to run the online updates from

There doesn't seem to be an option to switch off auto-save. All I can do is set the maximum time to 30 minutes.

I think that is true - so far there has not been any good reason to allow users to turn this off

No problem. I usually keep ADE open, save and compile, close FSX, copy bgls to scenery area and restart FSX.

Now, I will close ADE after compiling.

No, auto-save is not the answer.

It is happening more and more.

Create a helper and create a GP line from it. On return from the GP editor, the line is displaced by about 12 metres.

On saving and reloading, the helper has moved by the same amount.

Unfortunately it is not repeatable, it happens randomly.

I found a problem with dimensioning of arcs. I can't actually see how that would give the exact effect you show but it might.

I have now constrained arc helpers to circles and fixed the dimensioning problem so perhaps this will fix the offset as a byproduct.....

I have also now added the ability to use the mouse wheel to change degrees of arc. Hopefully that will make these more useful
