• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 KPGD Punta Gorda

When I was making my first airport lights few years ago I went into a problem as a result by placing them using a Instant Scenery 3 or whatever object placer.I found the solution that you have to export all the lights from 3ds max (for me) as a model, then export them as a object in MCX (for the lights, not for the holder and you get a much better distance of the light..

Initially I wanted to place them in 3dsmax but I use the AttachPoint method. I would have had to rename all of the attachpoints individually.

If you try to use your runway lights as dynamic lights, please don't.I used dynamic lights for my parking and it literally took like 5-6 fps by 10 lights.I can imagine how much its going to decrease your fps for like more than 200 lights but dynamic.Your simulator wont start..Use default planes with mipmaps, everyone does that.Trust me! :)

Awesome, just give the ground a little bit of transparency.
Also, the water edges looks a bit strange.Maybe you give them also a bit of transparency.

Looks great overall.Try to add some decals on the top of the square building and add more detail, like lamps, some cables, antennas, fence and so, that would make your model look much better.

So you're saying that you export the lights and the fixtures separately, and then place them separately?

No, I was placing them in one file but using Instant Scenery 3 but I've been placing them one by one just in one file.So I decided to export all the lights using 3ds max and MCX, then the distance was improved.
