• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

This is the message I got when I tried to update San Francisco - Mega Photoreal Scenery. I am flying on P3D v6.

Hi Robert:

Bear in mind that ADE version 1.79 was not developed for- nor AFAIK, was ADE tested by the author with- P3Dv6.

So you and most others here, might have to do a lot of online searching to answer queries such as you have posted above.

Since BGLComp may be the compiler throwing the greater portion of the error message, you would need to learn how it codes an airport in XML before it compiles it into a BGL.

In addition, bear in mind that LM may have changed some of how BGLComp codes airports in XML for P3Dv6.

Also be aware that the ADE Fault Finder feature may not work on P3Dv6 airports, so you would need to interpret the XML in NotePad++:

https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/

Load your ADE airport XML file into NotePad++:

C:\MSFS\FS Design Tools\Airport Design Editor 179 Test\!AdeTempWorkOnly\KSFO_ADEX.xml

Display it via the XML Tools plugin to use a vertical (not 'wide') format for easier proof-reading of code:

NotePad++ Menu > Plugins > XML Tools > Pretty Print - Indent Attributes

Examine XML without Pretty Print at line numbers cited in your error message quoted above for ADE's edited airport work-in-progress.

IMHO, you should start troubleshooting this error message with searches at FSDEV on key statements in the error message.

Here is just one of the search results found in threads at FSDEV:

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/compiler-errors-found.442875/

Did ADE prompt for a FS version at startup ?

If so, did it offer P3Dv6 as a choice to be selected ? :scratchch

If not, ADE may fall back into use of the FSX/ P3Dv1.4x BGLComp to compile.

If ADE opened the stock P3Dv6 KSFO airport, it may contain BGLComp XML code that FSX / P3Dv1.4x SDK does not understand.

If ADE is in fact using the correct SDK version, you may wish to search on the (2) statements in the error message quoted above:

Any parking spots created must also be linked to the taxiway / RWY infrastructure, or it will be an "orphan" that may crash / damage P3D.

If you have not already done so, download and review pertinent sections of the ADE PDF manual at:
