• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Library Object files

Hello Guys,

Need a little help here. I'm a new user. Downloaded Airport Design Editor version 01.45.6. I created an object library with library object creator and I copied that object library.bgl file over to the Airport Design Editor/BGL Folder. I had 11 objects in that library.

Everything worked fine. I was able to place objects with no problems. Created a few thumbnails just as a test and that also went well.

I went back to the Object Library Creator and added one object to my existing object library. Compiled and saved with the same file name as the original object library.bgl file name. Copied that file to the bgl folder and let it overwrite the original.

When I run ADE and select add library object I only see the original 11 objects. The newly added object doesn't appear in the list. I tried creating the object library using a different name and copied that file to the BGL folder. It doesn't show up.

As a test I booted FSX and used the SDK object placer and the newly added object did show up and I was able to place it.

I guess my question is why does my new object library.bgl not show up. Where am I going wrong?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance

If you changed the contents of the bgl library ADE will not automatically pick up the change. You will need to Add the library to ADE again in the Library Object Manager. It should find the extra object and then add hte information about it.

Thanks

Thanks Jon. That did the trick. I must of looked at the tools pull down menu at least a dozen times and didn't see the Library Object Manager option.
