• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Looking for dev crew

Hello everyone!

I've recently embarked on an ambitious new project developing aircraft, some but not all the details are on the temporary website about what's going on, but needless to say it's a worthwhile look.

I'm looking for dev's from all categories, texturing, modelling, coding, you name it, we need it.

Head on over to http://nexgensimulations.com/ and send me an email on the contact page!! :)

Currently I'm doing all of the lead modeling, some texture work (I limit myself as I have little imagination) and I'm doing audio and some coding. Oh, and pushing the PR Lol

What kind of project? Airplane? Scenery? Which platform? FSX? P3D?
From the "Mission Statement" on the website.
Our mission at NexGen simulations is to give that next step into introducing pilots into the mid level of commercial aviation, and training them as such. Our goal is to bring you new aircraft to FSX, FSX:SE and P3D. These aircraft are going to be rich in detail, and will come with real manuals and training from the pilot's that are certified to fly them, and fly them every day.

"Expect nothing less than a PMDG quality aircraft"

I see this on your webpage. Question, if PMDG already does this job, why not just enjoy their product, instead of working your butt off to provide a comparable product?

Because he will maybe make models which aren't already (or never will be) developed by PMDG?

The shear fact that PMDG is focusing on large aircraft is our reason for starting this project. Yes, it's fun to fly a 777, however how many pilot's that are working on ATP minimums or building hours as a CFI are planning for a 777 or 757 to be their next aircraft? Realistically, none.

The flight sim community has been lacking mid level training aircraft for a long time. We realize that your first part 121 commercial pilot job is going to be in an ATR, an ERJ, a CRJ, a Dash, even aircraft like Dassault, Cessna. Our goal is to fill the gaps in where the aircraft haven't been developed yet, or the current ones are antiquated in comparison. We wan't to give you all the tools you need to prepare you for indocs, or to just simply have a good time.

Ah, you'd best stick with nothing greater than Max10 if you expect to export/compile for FSX or P3D. There is no exporter available from Lockheed Martin for Max11 or 15...

Bill, Max 2015 is listed in the P3D SDK and 2016 will work as well. I have no problem exporting to FSX with my copy of 2015. I'm not on my computer right now but I'm pretty sure Max 2011 is also listed.

Yep, as long as you're using XtoMDL from the v1.4 SDK, you can export models from whatever version of 3DS Max you choose using the P3D v3 tools - and they will work in all ESP-based platforms (FSX and P3D v1-3).

max used to use a number, like max9. Then max changed to use a year, like 2011. Bill was referring to the ops use of just a number.

Yes, 9 was the year 2007 release and 2008 was the first annual recognition number.

Yes, using the original sdk from FSX Gold you'd need to use a lower version of max, however with XtoMDL or the newest SDK for P3D you can use a higher version of max. Even so if I hit a snag, there's always the option to go from max 15 back down. My older PC has a student copy of Max 8 and 9 as well as GMAX if thing's dont work. The LOD's and hierarchies should step down seamlessly, I would probably have to re-animate the models though

An ATR 72 or a good fokker 50 would be a good choice, though F1 Atr are still a good aircraft always will be a good market for this ariplanes, but have to beat the earlier of course,

We currently have both an ATR-42 and 72 exteriors modelled, however at the moment, they are on the back burner for a more in-depth project
