FSX:SE Loss of GA AI aircraft

Gentlemen, I have lost ALL GA AI aircraft...Airline, ground traffic, boats, etc...all OK. I do very little flying, most of my sim time is spent creating/updating scenery....not sure when this happened...tried to add traffic to a project and when that did not work, I realized that there was no GA traffic anywhere! All traffic files are in the scenery/world/scenery folder & look OK, all GA aircraft are in the proper place. I have been over this for two days with no result...I have run out of ideas and ANY suggestions would be a great help. This is in FSX Steam and has been working fine up till now.
Thanks for anything.

Hello,

Sorry about your hardtime...
One single FS9-formatted BGL traffic file will cancel all AI traffic in FSX, IIRC.
You may want to check if a FS9 BGL has not slipped through somehow.

Tom, GA slider set to 60%, moved to 100%-no change. Have done a reinstall & have basic GA back. Adding what little add-on t I had one bgl at a time to see what happenens. We shall see.

Sounds like it may indeed be an FS9 formatted BGL file to me. These are tricky, since they often suppress the FSX AI only in the area they cover.

Thanks Tom. Going to start adding bgl's to see. Will let you know.

Tom, sort of update...added what few traffic files I had-one at a time-and ran FSX to see what happened. All OK until I started to add WOAI files...as soon as I added one, all GA went away! take it out, all GA back. As far as I know, the WOAI files are good for FS9 & FSX and they are all for airlines. ?? I have no idea what to think.

WOAI files are good for FS9 & FSX , but if you will use them for FSX you have to convert them first. E.g. with AIFP. Native are the WOAI-Bgl files FS9 files.

Your GA files appear to be in FSX format, while the WOAI files are in FS2004 format. As Christian says, you need to convert the WOAI files to FSX format with AIFP. It will even find them for you.

Thanks, Tom...yup, I am working on it and that seems to be the problem. ;)

Why? What is the problem?

If you read the above postings, you will see that I lost all GA AI and it seems to be associated with WOAI files thinking they are FSX while in reality they seem to be FS9

I read the above postings because I am interested in AI, WOAI and AIFP. If you load AIFP this program can search for FS9files (all) in your sim and asks you if they should be converted (all). You say yes and convince you that all FS9 bgls are deleted. Sometimes after the conversion remain some 'bad' bgl-files. So you can proof your sim again with AIFP. And if all such FS9 bgl are rendered harmless you have your GA AI again.
Good luck.

Edit: sorry there was a problem with the fsdeveloper server (doubleposting)

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. Ran the WOAI files thru AIFP which seems to have cured the problem. I still am somewhat confused about this as the WOAI files were installed about 2 years ago! Oh well, on to create other problems.
Thanks again,

Perhaps you saw only WOAI and no (FSX) GA AI. FS9 bgl files only kill FSX_traffic_files and not the FS9 bgl files.
An other possibility could be, the FS9 files were wide from the FSXfiles.

As I said this is kind of tricky. Some areas will be affected, others won't. It might also be that sometimes they are not affected, and other times they are?

Greetings everyone
I use something called bgl to fsx converter to check ai traffic files, this converts fs9 traffic files to fsx traffic file.
