• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MCX Batch process wizard

Hi,

I'm trying to rescale a number of mdl's with the batch process wizard of MCX, latest dev version.

I need a scaling factor of 1.12 but the scaling operator field does not accept it (no valid value for int32).

Also tried the comma separator and switching between european and US dot/comma notation, but to no avail.

Maybe it is impossible to enter fractions at all? Any hints?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi,

Let me check. I think somebody reported this before, but I could not reproduce it.

Thanks Arno.
This is actually part of a bigger challenge. I noticed that when I design an object in 3DSMAX and deploy it in P3D, it is scaled down in the Simulation by approximately the factor mentioned above. This happens with all objects I deploy in P3D V2.2. In 3DSMAX as well as in MCX the dimensions show correct though.
Rescaling it in MCX is a workaround, I think I'll report that to LM.

[EDIT] Forgot to mention, the normal, single object rescaling works, it's only the batch processor which does not accept fractional inputs.

Cheers.
Mark

Hi,

I just fixed the batch scale issue, it now takes a double. The fix will be in the release of tomorrow.

Hi,

I believe that's been true for all the sims since at least FS2002 - all the default objects are oversize by about 1.1 X.

Hi,

I have never seen this kind of issues. I have made many issues from accurate data of the buildings and they always appeared in the sim at the size I designed them at.

That's correct. But if you look at the *default objects* they are oversize, and your objects next to them will appear only 0.9 x in size.

Just wanted to report back, the batch process wizard allows mass rescaling with doubles now.

Thanks for the fast response, Arno, this really saved me a lot of time!

Cheers,
Mark
