• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Missing File

Ok since this thread is already concerning ADE, im gonna ask my question here. Whenever I push compile airport button I get a popup saying "the system cannot find the file specified". Does anyone know what this means. Oh and btw when I click ok and that message I get another popup that says airport compiled yet I go look for the file and it did not create.

Oh and one more thing also how do you do it to activate all runways because the planes only keep using one and I want all activated

I moved this to a separate thread

This means that ADE cannot find BglComp - have you run the new user wizard and made sure that ADE knows where Bglcomp is?

I think this depends on a number of factors outside our control. Jim Vile or one of the others may be able to give you a more detailed explanation.

well my location is at

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery

would that be right location for it?

And im not sure if this is right but for the Shp2vec folder i put this location set for

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ShadersHLSL\Terrain

I didnt really understand what this was so i set it for there

The BglComp and Shp2Vec folders are in the SDK tree:

If you run the New User Wizzard from the tools menu and click the Find button it should fill in the paths for you.

I did do that when I installed it and it says SDK not found

If you haven't installed the SDK, ADE will not work.

From the "Getting Started" document:

The following applications / files are required for ADE to run properly:

Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition.

ADE needs FSX to be present so that it can use SimConnect.

The FSX Software Development Kit (SDK), which comes only with the Deluxe Edition, with the latest Service Pack Updates (SP1A, SP2, or Acceleration DVD)

MSXML 4 at minimum. Required by BglComp

Microsoft dotNET Framework version 2.0

Ok, well I have the FSX Deluxe and what is simconnect im sorry im having trouble understanding. I do have microsoft.net 2.0 also.

I have done BGL files before when i do flightplans thats why I dont understand

Jram

On the FSX disk is the original SDK. Run the SDK.exe and place it somewhere on your Computer Drive.

You will now need to update the original SDK with either the SP1a or SP2 SDK found at FSInsider or on the Acceleration Disk if you have that FSX update.

Once the SDK SP1a or SP2 is installed then ADE will work properly and compile a airport bgl for you.

If you still have problems let us know.

Ok guys thanks for the help but now I have a bigger problem. whenever I tried to load fsx it went up to 100% and it stayed there in the black screen. I could hear all the sounds and if I pushed the buttons such as the throttle button it would make the engine sound but there is no picture display.

Can anyone help. Oh and btw I had to install Sp1 and Sp2 for it to work. I dont know if that would cause it to do that. I also have addons such as scenery released on websites installed. I also have directx 9.0 on my computer so I dont know if I have to have the 10.0v for it to work properly and if needed how would you uninstall these sp1 and sp2 packs
