• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Missing Library Items in v.01.67.5684

I still have ADE v.01,61.5298 on my Laptop and recently upgraded my Desktop to ADE v.01.67.5685. Some time ago, in ADE files of 3 airports, I added VFR Letters from JGSE,bgl and Gate Markings from gatemarkings-ss-fsx.bgl at all parking spots of these airports on both computers. These were displayed by FSX on both computers, prior to upgrading my Desktop. Since upgrading my Desktop to v.01.67.5685, the Desktop no longer displays these items in FSX, but both the Laptop and Desktop ADE files show these items as previously placed in both versions of ADE. I checked and MATCHED all ADE and FSX settings on both computers. On both computers, these items are listed in Libraries Used and "View" is checked. The only difference found was the concrete apron on the Laptop to have a "Drawing Level" of 121 and the Desktop concrete apron "Drawing Level" of 125. I tried raising the altitude of these items on the Desktop to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated, other than reverting to the prior version <smile>. John

When you updated ADE did you import the old settings from 1.61 into 1.67? If not then 1.67 won't know anything about gatemarkings-ss-fsx.bgl. In ADE do these markings appear as black boxes in the display when you load the project file?

It sounds like your updated desktop machine no longer has gatemarkings-ss-fsx.bgl and JGSE,bgl in an *active* scenery folder (inside FS). Are they?

Jon: The "old settings" such as my ADE airport files like KCLT are maintained in their individual folders in the ADE program area and accessed from there and I had moved them to their same locations in the new version after installation. There were no black boxes in the display, only yellow ones which indicated that the library additions are present in ADE.

Tom: Guess which ancient and nearing forgetfulness numbskull "firmly stated" that he checked and compared ALL FSX settings on both computers BUT failed to check if the "Settings-Scenery Library" on the desktop matched that on the lappy AND found that "MAIW RAF Scenery" and "ObjLib-GateMarkings-fsx" were SOMEHOW no longer active in the "Setting-Scenery Library" on the desktop from the last time he simmed a route to KCLT on the desktop and noticed the gate markings and letters were missing from the parking spots. It is amazing what a couple of files being present on a desktop will do for folks. Thank you. What would folks who are certain they have done everything correctly do without friends like you to keep them straight? You friends are fantastic! John
