• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

hi

i loaded external plane mdl in modelconverterX

like all aircraft have textures fliped vertically in "textures" folder I undertand now why when i export to obj in cinema4d the plane load with all textures bad placed.

My question is if modelconverterX have .obj export options like "flip all textures"??

Thank you

This will flip them upon loading, perhaps that will help?

Options/Texture Settings/TextureLoader/FlipDDS/True

It's not an issue with MCX, it's just that FSX uses a different origin for the textures then your modelling tool does. So you need to flip the textures before you can use them in FS.

If you have a graphics program that can work on graphics, opens Bitmaps and DDS textures, then you open them up, flip them as you need, burn copies as JPG's for Max, and you'll need to convert your Bitmaps to DDS, or just use your Bitmaps as they are. I dont know if Bitmaps are flipped. It might be on that only DDS textures are flipped and Bitmaps might be 'up and proper'. (Its been a long time since dealing with Bitmaps for me).

Part of making planes the new way. After your first plane, you get used to it.

By the way, Bitmaps do work in P3D and FSX. It just doesnt run as fast in computer memory as DDS files. But they work. Carenado usually only make Bitmaps on their planes, unless they changed.
