• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Blender Modelling with a reference

Hi guys, I was just wondering what you use as a reference when you model terminals, in terms of the details.

Since this is kind of related, I'd like to promote pureref once more. It's such an amazing tool to have all your reference images at a glance. More here:

Hi

I have bridges modulated using has reference some project details, but the geo position, by using satellite photo.
I was doing:
- Collecting images with SBuilder
- Converting the latitude and longitude using online converters into meters.
- Creating a plane in 3ds and giving him the length and Width in meters.

Like this:

Now, reusing the parts already modulated, looks like that conversion into meters was not perfect, so the curves are not good. :yikes: Object partial outside of the real path.

Do you know a better way to get this satellite reference? Or a better way to convert Sbuilder coordinates into meters?

Thanks

Where are the curves a problem? I don't see any problems at all...

Thank you for the reply.

In blue is aligned, but then after the curve, the space between the real satellite image and the model increases.
That curve does not have the correct angle (red circle), and same happens in next curve of the bridge.

So the reference is not with the correct dimentions.
How to convert Sbuilder coordinates into correct meters?

Best regards
