• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Moving/Creating Roads

Hey guys,

I need some pointer on how to tackle this situation.
I have an airfield with 4 roads as the perimeter north/east/south/west of the field.

The road south of the field (red) i need to move, since it should go in a straight line, but default FSX scenery has it going in a bend. I want to move it so it matches the road in my photoreal.

The road west to the airfield (cyan) is non-existant in default scenery, so I need to create one, to blend with my photoreal groundpolygon.

How would I go about doing this? what is the best tool to tackle this?
I've never dealt with this situation.

I've attached an image to demonstrate what I'm working with.

Thank you very much in advance

You need to remove and replace the roads by exclusions polygons, I am not sure if Ade could that, I gues yes, someone could say, FsxKml is good for that task too, you can even add road traffic to this.

ADE will remove the road you don't want and add a new one. First you need to exclude the road you don't want with an exclude specific polygon set to the type a road you want to exclude. Then add a vector type road, set to the type of road you want to see.

Thanks, I will try that out once I get home. I know where to draw an exclude poly in ADE but which tool do I use to draw a new road?

Wow. I'm actually very impressed and surprised by how easy that was! I was able to do all the adjustments I wanted including editing my aerial photo a little in less than half an hour and I think the result speaks for itself. I think it blends very well with the surroundings now, doesn't it?

Is it possible to do that also with FTX Vector installed or only default FSX?

I need to move a road that go straight into a terminal building i placed. In real life that road exist but it's a bit more north placed. ADE can do that?
