• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Jon, I want to add night polygons as aprons to my project. Is it available in ADE Yet? I read the online help, but could not find all the pieces in the program itself..(ie Change Landslass). Thanks

Depends what you mean. You can add light rows or apron edge lights

Jon, I want to add aprons that are not dark at night, but that would have some light. When researching the subject. w read that in FSX ADE had a ground poly that could be used to give light to a dark apron at night. When looking at the help online for ADE 20, i found this:

Scenery Polygons

Scenery polygons are another way to work with an airport. They can be considered similar to terrain polygons in FSX/P3D. They support a number of functions some of which are now implemented (although all the attributes are available in the property grid). They are based on ESRI shape files. To change the color of the poly use Settings > Options > TERRAIN_AIRPORT_BACKGROUND. Transparency is best changed via the property grid since you can do that per poly at any time (0-255)

Use the View Menu and Land Class menu option to hide or show polys. This will be updated to a more appropriate item in a later update.

I could not find the Setting option mentioned, or they are there and i am missing them. Thank a million.

I see nothing in the SDK documentation that indicates a scenery poly can be used for lighting

The color of the poly mentioned there is the color in the ADE display and has nothing to do with lighting. The help notes should refer to Settings > Colors > TERRAIN_AIRPORT_BACKGROUND

If you want to light aprons - that is not done by changing the display color in ADE. But you can add ApronEdgeLights or Light Rows. I think these work. Alternatively are you looking for flood lights?
