• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Night Texture Question

Using Win 7, MCX 1.3.0.0, FS2004, FSDS 3.5.1. Created disk, made bgl in FSDS. In MCX imported bgl and added the _LM textures. Exported and opened FS2004. Problem: In the night time, the disk shows properly. But not in the Dawn or Dusk. It has to be completely dark.
Can you tell me what I did wrong? All the other airport/runway lights are proper at dawn and dusk.
Thank you

I don't know of a way to specify that an LM texture appear only at night, and not at dusk and dawn. You may have to set a visibility condition on the disk. After exporting the MDL file for the lit disk from MCX, run it through MDL Tweaker II and set its visibility to NIGHT only. Then create another (unlit) disk and set its visibility to DAY, DUSK, DAWN. You might have to have two unlit disks, one for DUSK, DAWN and the other for DAY, but I don't know if that is required.

This is a first for me also. Have done other static objects before and Dusk Dawn and Night lights all showed up. The _LM was created in Paint Shop Pro X6. And as stated; looks perfect in MCX. Thanks for reply.

Hi,

Night textures always show during dusk/dawn as well. So as suggested above you either have to make two objects or you could manually tweak the ASM code of the object to have the condition you want.

Thanks to all for the reply's. Found in FS2004 under settings display the dawn/dusk texture blending was unchecked.
