......and not just me.
The past couple of days I had three occasions when my development laptop shut down unexpectedly. The only common factor was that I was debugging ADE at the time - ouch you might say

Some research led me to overheating of CPUs, etc. Rubbish says I
Well just to prove a point I started monitoring temps. On average the core temp is around 55- 60C. Start Visual Studio 2010 and things warm up a bit but not that much. Now run ADE in debug mode and the core temp shoots up to 85+ and it would seem now and again over 90C where my laptop is programmed to turn itself off rather than catch fire
This worried me - is ADE a secret arsonist
Well with some trepidation I ran it normally from my normal installation. The temperature gauge could not be bothered to flicker much more than a few degrees. Core temp still comfortably in the 60s.
Before anyone suggests it - yes a laptop/notebook chill pad is ordered and in the post
However I do find it somewhat ironic that the major MS development tool seems to be able to get my computer all hot and bothered as well as doing the same to me
