• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi everyone! found out gauges don't parse in p3d. How can I fix this?, link to image of problem:

https://ibb.co/pngGCm9

I tried cutting & pasting the xml into parts for sections of the overhead panel because it wouldn't align with the switches (it is everything in 1 XML file)

content log:

Without seeing the actual XML code of one of those XML files we will not be able to help much. Post it.

This is what I was cutting and pasting:
What is wrong with these .xml entries?

I attached a notepad file to continue this due to the 20,000 character limit and the thread confusing one of the letters & characters as an emoji

Upon adding this correction, there are parse errors in my P3D error file:

[error.144]
error=Error(s) parsing XML file: G550 00 TRU Switches

[error.145]

Also what do I do in the event that, if they parse, but don't show up?

I have never seen such errors!
Whether in my P3Dv4 or P3dv5.3 or here in the forum.

Are you using file named like "G550 00 Overhead Test"?
Or do you have a string like this in your "G550 00 Overhead Test" in your xml -file?

As Tom already said:
Without seeing the actual XML code of one of those XML files we will not be able to help much. Post it.

Maybe also the panel.cfg?

Yes I am using the "00" in my panel cfg as filename, it is the filename and it is in my xml because it was formatted that way, strangely. Should I remove the "00"?

Rather than writing this in one monolithic gauge (which means any error will cause all gauges to disappear), try each section separately, and see if it at least appears. Perhaps this could help you narrow down your problem.

I tried removing the "00" but gauges are still not appearing

I renamed gauges but still an error:

[error.198]

Here is the link to the gauges, for troubleshooting? I am stuck trying to find what the cause of the gauges not showing is: link to gauges ,

I tried to correct it in notepad++ but no change

Your files are missing a great deal of necessary entries:

It should begin with this:
XML:
<SimBase.Document Type="AceXML" version="1,0">
    <Descr>AceXML Document</Descr>
    <Filename>clock.xml</Filename>
    <SimGauge.Gauge id="clock" ArtDirectory=".">

And it should end with this:
XML:
    </SimGauge.Gauge>
</SimBase.Document>

The entry for Filename should reflect the actual filename the gauge is in... and the id for the SimGauge.Gauge value should be appropriately defined for whatever gauge you're creating with the XML file. I strongly suggest you take the time to read the SDK regarding XML documents, take the time to look at XML gauge files that come with the sim. Take the time to understand what you're trying to use and what it's minimum requirements are.

Yes. The XML's came missing with the entries necessary for those
