• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE P3D v5 List of Sloped Airports

This is not exactly a feature request. Could someone write a simple utility that would make a complete list of all the P3d5 stock airports (and their APX file name)? It can't be that hard to do as the the utility could parse the stock BGL APX files for the specific new record types. Yeah, yeah, I should probably do it myself, but it only needs to be run once and everyone could benefit. Someone with both better coding skills and familiarity with the new BGL format could do it a lot faster than I could.
 
Yep - there is a utility called ADE that among other things generates this - otherwise it could not provide a list for the user to select from ;) Go to your ADE installation and the P35 folder inside it. The file is called airportList_base.dat. I have attached a zip of it. These files exist for all versions that ADE support. There is a function in ADE that calls the database stock indexes as well but that would just regenerate the default

You will need to extract the fields from the records or I can tell you what they are :)

Thanks, I have the new ADE beta for P3d5. Your suggestion helps in reading the APX files, rather than parsing the entire scenery folder for them.

The P3d5 BGL airport record has new entries for updated aprons, taxipaths, parking spots etc. with values at or above 0x00AC. Or am I missing some additional entries? I suppose it might also make sense to figure out what airport ICAO codes were changed/added between P3d4 and P3d5. Or did somebody like Alpha India Group already do so? Anyway I'll PM you if I need to ask anything further.

I am now not sure what you want - you asked for a list of airports in v5. There are six new item IDs in v5 all associated with sloped airports. We know what they are, we know what the ID is and what the records contain.
