• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey Guys, a couple nights ago, we started a new airport. By we I mean a friend and I. It's our first time creating scenery, but we're getting the hang of it. One of us has previous modelling experience.

The basic model is about 50% done for the main terminal, and the ground poly should be starting soon.
Depending the quality this turns out to be, we plan to create Christchurch, Auckland as well as Wellington.

Many Thanks guys!

Nice to see some development happening in NZ. I am eagerly awaiting some sceneries there. Usually the ORBX regions are better covered.. like Norway or Australia.

Of course I am waiting the most for a good NZAA scenery but Palmerston will be a good place to practice I guess :)

Keep the previews coming, I will follow it closely

Cheers David! Our plans are to expand to Auckland, and as you said, Palmerston is a good place to practice. Cheers!

Hello Everyone!

Been a while since the last update. Work on the ground poly is going great and nearing completion! Modelling is still on going, and as you can see we have started to focus on little details like billboards on the apron and glass as well as trees.

Very happy with progress so far.

Cheers

That looks amazing! It will be a great addition to my NZ airport collection!

Hey Ablai, it is looking great.
I think you are having fun with scenery making.

Hey everyone! I know it's been a while, but we've had some issues, but we're back on track. As you can see, modeling the entrance from the Tarmac to the terminal has gone really well and nearly completed, with a few more textures to add. I am hoping to finish Modelling and texturing the terminal in the next couple weeks! :)

Cheers.

Accidently hit enter before even writing anything.

So yes, great success today. Managed to get that model to show in sim and the textures. Which is fantastic. While on the subject of textures, do note that the ones used in the image above (ground poly and buildings) are all temporary just to see them in sim, so don't worry. They will defenitly be better. Please leave your thoughts or any Tips below! :)

Cheers, have a great week!

Hi everyone!

Starting to model the Massey University building at the airport, and the best place to start? With the welcome sign outside the building!

Cheers!

Hey Everyone!

Back with an update regarding Palmerston North.

The texturing for the first building is nearly done. I am quite happy with the results, given it's my first time ever texturing.

Any feedback or anything, please let me know.

Cheers.

Nice mate, can't wait. Just remember to strike a balence between drawcalls (number of materials), and performance. :)
