• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Parking airline color code

Look at the parking info box
Yes, I see that Orbx used upper case, I was under the impression you were trying to change one of the three default parking spots to have a second JZA.

The JZA spot you have highlighted has the JZA color, which as Jim said, is very close to the color ADE uses for spots with no codes.

cheers,
Lane

I have Pacific Fjords and can look at the same file you are looking at.

Here is your screenshot with some notes I added...

These parking assignments were done by Orbx, I have not changed anything.

The blue spot is assigned to HKR, the JZA assigned spot is one shade of green, the 3 unassigned spots are the default ADE shade of green.

Can you see the difference in color between the unassigned spots and the spot assigned to JZA?

And just to clear confusion, are you saying that when you assign airlines to parking spots that the color does not change for you?

If so, can you upload an .ad4 file that you have modified so we can see it?

I suggest you start with a default airport, one that does not have any parking spots yet assigned to airlines. Then assign some airlines to a few spots, save the .ad4 file and attach it to a reply.

cheers,
Lane

Well DUH on me..Of all the AI in all the world I had to pick that one. (Sorry Mr Bogart)
I do have a excuse though...I'm temperately on some heavy pain meds and combined with a thick head makes it kinda hard to get my attention.:banghead:

One more question..When I compile, should the new ADE file save to the ORBX or Addon Scenery\scenery

No worries, glad you have it sorted out.

I have a specific scenery area for Orbx airports that I have modified that I keep right above the Orbx folders in the Scenery Library.

You may be disappointed if you save to the Orbx folder, replacing the Orbx file, and having your work removed with the next Orbx update.

Found that out the hard way.

I also go into the Orbx folder and disable their ADE files for airports I have modified.

cheers,
Lane
