• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

So to be sure - you are asking for assistance is creating the licensing code/method for payware aircraft?

I'm really not sure what method I'm going to use. I am thinking about using mirrakey because it intails PC specific registration (online) - (Limited piracy). I'm open to suggestions. Of course I know about the clickteam and the installshield installers, but they do not prevent piracy.

Yes it will be Payware.
Although I am a freeware enthuses.

While you're certainly allowed to charge money for your work, I would remind you that selling just one model not even provided in a FSX native version is way too little "bang for the buck" to think about massive anti-piracy measures because of very high customer interest.

The easiest solution would be using a simple, password protected .zip archive and then just e-mail the password to customers.

Sounds like a good idea however what would stop someone from buying the software and sharing it with their friends, and then share the password too.
Maybe I'm overthinking this fact and should not worry about piracy.

BTW: I have several models that takeoff vertically. Most of them are modeled for FS9 and FSX separately. in other words I have models compiled in FS9 and the same models compiled in FSX.

Check out the showroom in the next few days and I'll display some of them.

Also love your work. I have a couple of your models and love um!!
Have you developted any Payware and if so what method did you use?

Unless you use a license checking .dll that runs within MSFS, any serial-locked installer is pretty much useless after it has done its work. Finding the aircraft's folder in MSFS' aircraft folder and any flight plan .bgl files, zipping them and redistributing them isn't exactly black magic.

Also, any second spent fighting piracy is a second not spent on your next project.

Oh, okay.
"FSX compatible" implied otherwise.

Thanks.
