• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Port scan

I have now been provided a detailed explanation regarding the "port scan" blockage. If you go to abuseipdb.com and enter FSDeveloper's IP address, you get a long list of reports indicating that the IP address is being used for questionable behavior. While I'm in belief that Arno isn't doing all this stuff, if your host shares the IP with other domains ( a weird idea, if you ask me) this particular IP is most definitely burned, so to speak.

If it were me, I'd be getting a new IP address.. and not sharing it with any other domains. Yeah, I know... probably costly. But, at least if anyone else wants to know the whozit, wherezit, whyzit of it... there it is.

Thanks, let me check with the webhost if our IP is shared. I suspect it is.

I have checked, we did not have a dedicated IP address, so I just ordered that additional service. I think it's worth the extra cost (which is about 5 dollar per month).

So hopefully that solves the issues some of you had.

Most hosting providers share IP addresses across customers and define the packet routing by subnet masks. It's cheap, nasty and open to unexpected abuse.

I just got a message from the host that they will take about 1 day to change our IP and update the DNS. So hopefully after that day the issues and warnings are gone.

Fingers crossed. I have experienced another IPaddress for fsdev that appears to be shared

The IP address change has propagated to my location at least. I now get a clear load with no complaints from Malwarebytes.

[update]
I was wrong, I had forgotten I had turned off the Malwarebytes web protection and had yet to restore it. Still showing as 67.222.31.169 here. I will let you know when it changes.

Happy to report as of now I can also get onto FSDeveloper. Same Malwarebytes Port error. I even tried to email Arno about it and that was kicked back. Happy Again...
