• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Problem connecting to ADE

Hi Guys
I have been setting up a new computer and was just getting down to trying to make some airport modifications.
When I tried to link FSX to ADE with an airport loaded, at first I had a message saying FSUIPC was an incorrect version. I downloaded the latest release from Sept 2012 and it appears to work, in that I can connect and get a green button but the aircraft position is all zeros! If I press lock it shows the aircraft at zero position but of course a long way from the airport!
Moving in FSX in slew works but it is not transferred to ADE.
Any ideas please?

FS9 or FSX please............

If you haven't moved the aircraft in FSX, FSUIPC reports its position at 0, 0.

Slew the aircraft slightly or use "Move aircraft here" and again slew it slightly.

Thanks, I had forgptten the ADE environment checker.
This shows everything OK I think and FSUIPC 4.853 is connected.
I can start FSX via the button in the FSPUIC area and the positions all read zero.
There is still no change in those readings when I move or slew the aircraft.
I am running Windows7 but have had no other problems at all with FSX.

If you slew the aircraft in FSX with ADE connected does the aircraft symbol in ADE move? Does the Right Click Move Aircraft to Here option actually do anything?

I just read your OP and it seems you have tried these things. It may seem counter intuitive but I am using version 4.7.0.3 and that works fine so can you try an older version of FSUIPC. I seem to recall problems with later versions but that was some time back and I cannot find the details :o

I am using FSUIPC V4.8.5.9 without any problem (apart from the usual 0,0 on the initial connect).

Jon
Neither slewing the aircraft in FSX, nor trying the right-click "move to here" in ADE have any effect so I was wondering if it was an FSUIPC problem.
I will try to find an older version as you suggest, though it is strange that I got a message that I had the incorrect FSUIPC that made me try to upgrade in the first place!

Sorry Guys and thanks for the support but after scratching my head and trying it out again for the umpteenth time - suddenly it works properly!
I hope it lasts.
Don't you just love technology!!
Again thanks.
