• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Problem with Adding Designator to Paths

Hi,

When I create 'taxipaths, even over aprons, I am able to give designators to the paths.

But, if I use Apron paths to create the links, I can't.

Is there a reason for this and is there any way around it ?

Thnx

Sorry false alarm...I forgot that you actually need to 'create' the designations by clicking on the little + sign...doh !

One thing though....how do you use the runway designators ? given it is one link - (possibly) yet had a different designator depending on the end you're at...:rolleyes:

Well you do not need to use the runway designators from the list. ADE determines them automatically when you draw a runway link. If you are worried about staring on one runway and ending on another with ADE - try it ;) You will not get a runway link - you will get a taxi link. That is because a runway link must start and end on the same runway :)

Hi,

Sorry I didn't make myself clear...I was wondering what the runway designator were for.

I can create labels for taxiways such as "A" or "B1" etc....but I noticed a R08 for example as a designator. Wondered why I would need this...but I realise it can be used to change the runway labelling. so for a while I had a runway with a 80 degree heading but labelled 26 ..... anyway I sorted it out. Threw me for a while...but after a few Valium and half a bottle of Gin I'm okay now...

Thnx

You should not change it. Runway designators are used by ATC to direct traffic over them.

Hi,

Yes it was strange as the numbers on the runway changed - so they were the wrong way around - and then some planes started following really wierd paths...taxiing around almost randomly....then I realised that somehow I'd changed the designation for the runway....changed it back and all was once again good with the world !

Anyways...thnx
