• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

After updating ADE to v1.37 I got a few problems. When I start ADE i get this error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I press "OK" and then ADE starts, but when I try to load an airport I get this error messsage: An error has occurd which Airport Design Editor cannot handel. The details of this are shown below.

The program will now close. We apologize for any inconvenience

And then ADE close. I have tried to change my region settings, but it dosen\t work...

Can you please find the file called ade_200808.log in the application folder, zip it and attach it to a reply here or email it to me - jon AT scruffyduck.co.uk. It is very hard to find out what might be happening from the above and the log should contain some more detail. Does this occur while the splash screen is still visible or after the ADE main window has loaded?

It seems that the invalid string format error is partly to blame here. However you indicated this did not solve the problem. Currently ADE is missing a file - I suspect it is called waypointList.dat - this would be created when you start ADE properly. You would be asked to create the stock databases again. First thing to try in ADE even though the splash screen is still there is to Re-Create the Databases. Tools > Create Databases. If you can run this then please try to start ADE again and see what happens.

the database creator wont run; when I try to run it i get the "long" error message again...

The application does seem to be corrupted. My best suggestion is to uninstall it completely. Then to be safe change your decimal separator setting to a point. Install version 1.20, check that it is running and set it up. Then install the 1.37.05 update. After you have that running it should be safe to return to the comma separator.

v1.20 is installed, but ADE still dont work as it should! I cant load an airport, but now ADE doesnt crash before I try to load the airport, and now I can change things in the options meny... here is my ade_200808 file:

Now I installed v1.35 and it worked! :)

Based on your log it looks like you were still on a comma decimal separator.

hmm..strange, because I have set my vista 64/bit on english.
It still doesent work perfect, ADE always crash when I enter the corner coordinates to a new background image...

This is a known bug - are you entering the coordinates in exactly the same format as your settings? that is decimal or DDM?
