• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v2 Project Dornier Do24

I do hope you try an export to the sim soon, it would be a pity to find at a late stage the exporter coughs over a difficulty or two.

Yea please, - I take any help I can get, spezial the coloring scheme's for dutch variants.

Hello Weimaraner,

I am happy to help out. Also i am willing to share the vast archive i have collected on this archive. Please sent my a personal message containing your email adress so i can email you the archive from my skydrive.

Some notes on the Dutch used Dornier Do24K1/2's

X1 to X29 : All Do24K1 models build by Dornier. X1 to X12 all had the early middle Alkan turret , from X13 the airplanes were equiped with the Laffette AB15 ball turret and the Hispano Suiza HS404 20mm rapidfire cannon.

X30 to X-36 , Licence build Do24K1 , airplane's contructed by Avioland and the Schelde.

X-37 - The single build Do24K2 , the other airplanes were completed during the German occupation and served with the Seenottdienst as Do24N (actually Do24K2)

Colours used by the dutch naval airservice :

The early color were light grey abaove the waterline and below the waterline milk white. Someweri in 1940/41 the new dark scheme was aplied.

Insignia :

Before ww2 the dorniers all carried the dutch roundels and red/white/blue rudders (outside only). the Organge circle in the roundel is always 1/5th the diameter of the roundel. The roundels on the hull had a diameter of 85cm and on the wing 150cm. In December 1938 the red/white/blue rudders were discontinued so this was never used in its operational period. From Oktober 1939 the roundels were replaced by orange triangle's with black edge. Also the rudders were given the orange color and black edge. ( both inside and outside) The black edge is always 10cm wide regardless off the triagle size. In April 1941 the big trianlge's on the hull were replaced by smaller ones and the triangles on the top of the wings were left out. From March 1942 the triangles were replaced by large dutch flags.
