• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I was wondering what the purpose of a closed taxi link is for in the edit section, when you turn it from blue to red. What does it do.

As I recall (without checking) it places X at the ends of the link in sim. However that will not stop traffic using it if it is still connected to the other taxiways.

Hi blehman, some essentials regarding Cosed Links:

- You can create 'visual' links without getting a report in the Fault Finder

Do the same with a Taxi Link and you will see a report in Fault Finder 'Orphan Link'.

- You can easily create - as I call them - 'dead exits'.

The red centerline allows you to perfectly position such an element to get a seamless result. The advantages: you will get fillets and thus don' t have to create them manually (if you wanted some of course) and - nodes which are not linked to the network of your taxiways will not slow down AI, whereas AI usually slows down when approaching a (linked) node.

- And no, it doesn' t place Xs at the end of the the link in the sim.

Stay tuned!

The reason i'm closing the links is to try to get the
AI aircraft to use a main GA runway for KLIT,instead of taking off on mostly big runways for passenger jets and props.

This may require what I think the experts call 'plumbing' That is arranging a set of taxi links that go to specific parking types. I am no expert in this but perhaps one of those guys will step in.

I don't think this would help. All parking spots need to be connected to all runways.

if you want GA or other small aircraft on the west side of the airport to use 18/36 and not the 2 main runways you need to activate 18/36 by using Jim Vile's Xwind tutorial to learn the technique, then you can use ADE to add the fake runways,
if you are not sure how this is done download my KLIT from Avsim to see how i activated 18/36 so all 3 runways will be used, i found the GA on the west side used 18/36,
not sure if this is what you are trying to achieve..........

Yea,i'll try that.Yes,i would like to see all the AI planes use all three runways, but i'm not sure how that works.
