• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Remove Default Airports

Hello,

So I'm trying to create a new airport that exists in real life (NK26), but in MSFS, there's an airport already with that name that no longer exists in real life (and is probably named wrong in the sim) in a completely different location. I tried making the new airport with the currently correct name but I cannot get it to appear. I have all the "to delete" boxes checked but still no luck. Is there a way to achieve this?

There's also another airport that I'm interested in deleting that also no longer exists in real-life but I'm not sure how to do that but it would seem like these two are related.

Thanks

unfortunately there is no way to delete or even re-name (change the ICAO).

in order to hide an existing airport you need to create the new airport with the same ICAO as the one in the system otherwise your new one (even if it’s a blank) will not show. At this point we need Asobo to come up with a development tool that could do it, but I doubt it’s high on the list.

ADE will be able to do something similar to save time in creating an entire new airport

The ICAO is 4 lettered, but the sim allows for 5 letters as an ID. You could make your airport as NK26A, and you'd be able to build your stuff, and locate it within the sim.
