• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v3 Runway Light Effect

Thank you for your help and effort, I really appreciate it.
However these updated versions of lights still do not show up in my scenery with SODE. Strangely, the mdl files I created with the old version of modelconverterx from the old versions of your lights (the one with the weird black sheets), work and appear in SODE and in my scenery. Tried to save a different mdl from the existing ones, p3dv3 and v4 types, but none of them appear in the scenery, even though I'm on p3dv4.
I'll continue looking for a possible culprit here.

Good day to all.
I need your help!!!
I want to achieve high visibility of runway lights including axial lights. Made several models of axial lights for LODs. The model includes not a single fire, but light sources placed throughout the entire runway 3D. LODs 100 has an original lamp scale (first screenshot). The second and third screenshot shows how the central lights on the runway look like in a simulator on the ground. The fourth screenshot shows that the visibility of the lights in the air dramatically worsens.
5-6 screenshots show how LODs work in MCX. I specifically zoomed in for LODs 10 in 500 times to see the lights in the simulator. But the lights are not visible.

I created LODs models in SketchUp. Saved in tantalizing file names. Exported them in Dae format and connected to the LODs of the main file in modelconverterx. Maybe I'm doing it wrong or missed something! Your help is very necessary !!!

I believe you need to attach larger and larger effects as you go to lower LOD models. That way the effects will remain large as you move away from the runway.

Guys, everything is done, thanks a lot !!!!
Made smooth transitions from one LODs to another. I did triple axial highlighting on the runway, so I did not increase the texture as much as possible. The central axial will be seen brighter with greater visibility. ALS I made using fx files connected via controllers. ALS lighting is visible starting at 20 kilometers from the runway.

Is still looks like you cant see the lights at the end of the runway. You should be able to see the lights from 7-8 miles away at Zoom level 1.

Sorry to answer so late.
Now the lights are visible from afar. I used the LOD system and edited the BITMAP textures in ImageTool.
Lights are visible at a distance of approximately 15 km from the runway.
