• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SAAB JAS39C/D

Actually, the Gripen is designed for point defense. The F-16 is more of an offensive weapon. That may have more to do with why it doesn't take extra large loads.

Bit by bit she seems to get together... very slowly indeed:

Althought there is still a lot to do and adjust!

so as it turns out some JAS39Cs have this forward placed pylon (starboard side, under the engine intake). It seems that the Swedish, South African and Hungarian air force do but the Czech does not have this pylon. This will therefor require me to make one model with and one without this pylon.

Now time to get working on the Mauser BK-27's fitting. After that I'll probably to figure out what the area behind the fore-plane looks like and model it before moving on the gears....

BTW notice how good I am with painting on the front wheels :rotfl:

She looks awesome!!!

BTW, concerning the pylon, maybe try it with a visibility tag, and control it by a pop-up screen ;)

Anyway, nice to see all the progress going, while I'm still looking for time to finish my model :p

Cheers,
Daniël

No need for two models. Simply associate the LITENING station with a payload station in the aircraft.cfg and make it appear when said payload station has a certain amount of weight assigned by means of simple visibility code.
The same also applies to any other external loads.

Nice works !!!

better if focus on 1 model as base, either do both single seater and double seater. time saving.

True and I am actually doing that. Whenever I finish a part on the C version I either append and fit it to the D version or I make the same part on this version, if it is different from the C verion's part. The model's match up pretty well and at the moment I am hopefull I could include the NG versions at some point in time to get that Força Aérea Brasileira Gripen nicelly covered. The NGs will appear the same on the exterior as its predecesors but will have numerous internal upgrades. All that need to be done is add an air intake on the vertical stabalizer and add two fuselage pylons... Anyhow back to work, got some issues to solve regarding custom axis-rotation!

Yes, the C/D version include retractable refeuling probes to meet NATO reqruirements. It hasn't been fully animated yet.
I had some issues animating the flexible part which i shoupd animate using armatures. However the animation didn't export so I just wrote it on a post-it, stuck it to my desk surface and now it's sitting there for me to solve it. :rotfl:
