• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Scenery objects not appearing?

Hello i am making a scenery (which unfortunately) i am unable to release any information at the moment due to my project leader. But i have a problem i hope someone is able to answer for me. I am using ADE to make the airport and place objects. Now i place the objects in this case some bushes but after i compile them they do not appear. I have place them in top priority and have eliminated the ground bgl thinking it might be suppressing it. Any ideas of what might be causing it to not appear and how to fix it? I have also maxed out my sliders and again no luck. I have included a screen shot if it will help any bit. Thanks for any help here.

Is the object library bgl file containing the object in an active scenery folder in FS? Are the textures associated with the objects in the corresponding texture folder?

yes the files are in the active folder all textures are there and nothing has been edited. i cant seem to figure out what it could be

The next thing is to look for duplicate or other Bgl files that are at a higher priority and relate to this airport. These might be stopping your object showing.

yes i have removed all the bgl in the area and have made a new scenery folder for the scenery and placed it at top priority but still no luck

Some scenery objects do not always display properly.

Move the bush swamp 04 out of the cluster they are in and then see if they show when FS is running. In some cases certain scenery surpresses other scenery if set too close.

Another check is to make sure your autogen density setting in FS is at least to the sparse setting.

i figured it out i think. i believe the object simply doesnt exist or something got to make my own. HERE WE GO!!! Watch eaglerotorcraftsimulations within the next month for new planes helios and scenery

Hi,

I do not have the bush swamp set either (although it shows up in the library object creator with thumb and GUID and all) and when I had a similar problem everybody grinned (well, I suppose they did) and said I should not make the same mistake twice (in fact, it was the third time, I think:o).
Upon installing a new version of ADE, you also presumably installed the new thumbnail pack and in that pack, there is no distinction made for the FS version you are using (FSX STRM, FSX sp2, de luxe, FSXacceleration or FSX Gold). All objects are included, also the ones that I do not really have because I have only bought de De luxe version and installed the sp1 and sp2 long ago.
In short, I think that those objects belong to the Accel pack and that is why you will not see them.
I could be wrong though as they could also be in some regional scenery bgl's.
Please correct me if (hopefully) I am wrong.

The big thumbnail pack is for FSX. However since GUIDs should not be duplicated between versions (other than a few stock objects for some reason) Having the Big Thumbnail pack should not matter in FS9 - just no help.

Hi Jon,

Not sure if I understand what you are trying to tell me.
I do not know whether Jaack is on FSX or FS9 but I am on FSX and I do not have those scenery objects either.
I deleted my previously ported over vegetation library and imported it again from the scenery\global scenery and the swamp set is gone.
Hence my thinking it does not belong to FSX but to FSX Accelerated.

OK - it is probably me :o If someone would be kind enough to confirm to me the GUID then I will check it. It is entirely possible that it is in the Accel Pack files

Hi Jim,

You searched in the ADE folder but not in FSX. It is not in my version, at least not so that I can find it.

We have two threads on this subject - Jim reported in the other that it is in vegetation.bgl updated by FSX Accel - and I concur.

We got stuck with ADE and the object list - if we left out Accel objects then we had questions for users of that pack - so we put them in. Unfortunately users will think all objects in the list are present on their system and this may not be true. It is not helped by MS changing some FSX bgl files for FSXP without changing the names. I believe there are also changes in some Bgl files in SP2 etc. So in truth we can't win here.

Apologies to the OP that ADE has objects in its database that he may not have on his system

No sweat, John.

As long as we know what is happening it's alright because you just delete the bgl's you think include FSXA objects and reload them again from your scenery\global\scenery folder in FSX.
Anyway, that was what I was trying to explain but rather clumsily:o.

Thank you for you replies i have found out the problem now. The scenery I needed was in FSX accel which i dont have. Oh well time to make some plants!

The scenery should be appearing on eagle rotorcraft simulations website within the next month and will be freeware but most likely payware for $10 USD.
