• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scenery Question

I created a terminal using FSDS 3.5.1, and saved as a mdl. I used ADEX Library Objects to install lights from FSX_Lts. I saved and complied in ADEX. This is a bgl file.
Question: I can place the mdl terminal anywhere I desire. What is required so I can see the lights? I use the MCX batch wizard, but doing something wrong.
I open the Wizard Command>Batch Command and add the input name. The writer is FSX MDL Object. I save to my folder. When I click the process button, the name disappears from the input window and I cannot find anything in the folder I use.
What am I doing wrong here? Many thanks for all of your time and support.

The fsx_lts? Is this a separate library of objects, Not a part of the terminal that you created? If this is so why would you need the batch wizard with MCX for this?

I guess what I'm asking is... Why de-compile the fsx_lts, just add them through ADEX or whatever your using to build an airport.

Sorry, I don't understand. First you are talking about a terminal, then about lights. I don't know what the later discussion refers to.

You can use ADEX to place the MDL file of the terminal anywhere you wish. Just place the MDL file into the List/Models listing, right click on the airport where you want your terminal, and choose Add Model. Choose it from the list and it will be added to your ADE file.

Hope this helps,

Pyscen - Yes, this a separate download and I use it in the library of objects.

tgibson - I have never used this feature. I'll try to follow your suggestion. I did notice I can edit and scale my mdl object. Will have to practice with it.
Thank you both for the input.
