• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Simconnect xml and FSUIPC

Hi Chaps,

Just noticed that if you add the simconnect xml file to allow planner to integrate with FSX, it knocks out FSUIPC.

This is on Windows Vista

Any thoughts?

I was looking into using HiFi Sim's Active Sky X on a networked PC. They have you use the SimConnect.xml file as well, and according to their documentation this sometimes causes issues with FSUIPC. However, they said that a fix is to simply run the FSUIPC installer again once you have set up the SimConnect.xml file. Then apparently, FSUIPC will be properly configured.

Maybe this will help people with FSUIPC issues.

Hi Russel,

As i was the original poster of this prob i think I must respond.Your above solution is no good.I tried installing FSUIPC after simconnect dll in place but no go>
Adain hrere's what happens.I put simconnect.xnl in dedicated folfer in which are also a dll.xml {which starts FSUIPC.dll and LVD.dll and a exe.xml which start my sofware for my GoFlight modules. Now just putting thatsimconnect.xml inthat same folder blocks that dll.xml and exe.xml. they start cause for the exe.xml which start that goflight software because I get an ikon im sys tray but NO CONNECTIONand the fsuipc log shows it starts up but then for some reason stops. What does work is the connection of FSXPlanner.
The moment I remove the simconnect.xml all goes back to normal again. As far as ASX using simconnect.xml that and other simconnect files stay inside the ASX folder structure and no xml is put in that dedicate d folder.
Just to be correct:I use only one computer, Vista 32 FSX with SP1 FSUIPC and LvelD 767-300 but as you'll see in original thread JOSEW has same prob with WinXP.Hope this can be solved.

Regards...Marc
