• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

STOPPING/REDUCING AI PUSHBACK, GA

I know this is an old chestnut, but-
I am Trying to reduce/ eliminate pushback distance for GA project.
Methods- Reducing wingspan in Aircraft .cfg file has no effect (Ive seen this referred to a number of times)
- - Reducing wingspan AND reducing Parking spot radius - has no effect.
Adding more taxipath in to parking spot and adding nodes closeby (as suggested in a post), has no effect.
The only thing I havent tried is the "plumbing" method - If this DOES work in eliminating pushback then I will give it a whirl!

Any advice would be appreciated -on what actually works.
Thank you

The answer here is to put a blue node very close to the center of the parking spot on the connecting link. The distance between the parking spot center and the blue node defines the length of the pushback.

From mobile hence short

This works for FSX or later; FS9 requires a different approach.

A doubt... the first node after the parking spot is the "point" of pushback starting turn (if user choice shift+p+1 or p+2)? or this rule is only to AI traffic?

Hello, I’ve only done this for small ga parking spots as I didn’t want them to unrealistically push back a long way as they do naturally in the sim. Being this is the case you would not want your small ga to push back. I also arranged the spots so the aircraft faced the right way.
