• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Suggestions for Future Versions 2

Could we have the ability to add runways by using endpoints rather than center point and rotation? The data in AIRNAV and AVN are all for runway endoints.

I would support that one. It could be a second option as for smaller airports often the reference point is just the middle of the runway.

It might be possible to arrange it. However you need to be aware that FS is interested only in the single center reference point. Thus it would be a drawing/design option and ADE would have to convert the 'corners' to the center reference point. Actually it already knows where those corners are.

Right. Just something to enter the endpoint coordinates and have the editor compute the center point and true heading. I know I can use something like COMPSYS21 but it is not cut and paste aware like ADE is. Sure would make it a lot easier. Thanks.

While I'm on a roll, i would like to see all phases of an approach stay visible on screen while editing and maybe differentiate each transition with seperate colors. oooo and while I'm at it maybe a snap function to snap to already entered waypoints - similar to the taxiway functionality.

Sorry, I've done QA for a large CADD company and it gets into the blood.

A couple more suggestions

Hi Guys,

1. Any chance of having the list of airline codes in the MRU Airlines field (Parking Properties dialog box) extended? I think the default is set to the last 10 selected in the drop-down. Would be good if it could be longer.... say 20!

2. For the Models List, I'm hoping there is a way that the position of the currently selected model in the list could be in some way visually highlighted on the airport diagram. This would be especially useful when the same model is present multiple times and you need to find out where they all are.

Thanks for your consideration.:)

Regards
Mark

Duly noted :)

Feature Request

Scale Apron Points and boarders based on Zoom factor.

For some reason the Cement aprons don't show over the Asphalt even when I move it to the front.

So, to create a cement area inside the asphalt area, I create the cement area first and "draw" the asphalt around it. When I zoom in to match up the corners, the lines and points of the aprons are so large I can't see what I'm doing.

User assigned Keyboard Commands

When I was designing Database software for the Navy, I created a User based Keyboard Command Assigner.

While making data entries, there are many functions that are often repeated. This suggestion goes in hand with the one I made about a command for adding library objects. But not everyone will need that suggestion. So how about letting the user assign keyboard commands.

I'm not sure if it will be practical to implement this far along, but it's an idea.

User controlled Features

Another request I got from my Navy project was giving the users the ability to enable/disable features.

In my case, I find the cursor info boxes very useful when I need to ensure I have the correct item selected, but annoying at other times.

One thing I found is when too many features are included, it breaks the program.

I love features and options, but only if I can control them.

This suggestion could go hand-in-hand with my previous one about User Controlled Keyboard Commands.

I'd love to have a key that toggles the cursor info boxes.

Thanks for the suggestions. We will certainly add them to the development list.

Jon, is it possible to include an option to change the color of the centerline taxi lights?

I believe that is fixed by the compiler. Not sure it allows for different colors

We are coming to the end of another year so it is time to close off this suggestions thread. I am reviewing the list and will create a 'Suggestions 2010' thread shortly. :)
