• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have adopted this scenery to correct frame rate problem. Since this scenery is actully not mine, I have to maintain all the texture as much as possible but make less draw calls, less vertex. I decided to make interior decoration for this airport. Lots of Thai architecture in side will be presented to the world of Flightsim.

I'm making ground poly for this airport, quite a tough job.

Thanks to this forum. I've got a lot of tips to solve problems with glass wall and internal structure.
Please fell free to comment.
Thanks,

(PS. this is a payware at Simmarket.com but old customer will get free upgrade and sorry for bad fps from the first version)

Struth - Well done, I presume it took you a while to do the base polys ?

Thanks.

I still not done yet with ground poly. But, at this stage, when I export from gmax it takes almost a few minutes. I need to leave, take a break, making a cup of coffee and then come back again to see how it works. Not only that, the whole concourses, main terminal and interior structures need to be in the same gmax file to make correct drawing priorty in the game.

The concourses, mainternimal, small tower nearby and interior sturctures are in the same mdl. But other things are separated bgl such as metal frame, canvas and other concrete buildings . The glass wall and the interior structure have to be in the same model to get correct priority to draw by graphic card in the game. I did try to make them separately but the result was not good enough. Like Sala Thai in the glass intersection of concourses you see in the picture when I did it separately, the Sala Thai floated out from the glass wall.
Actually, I'm not the expert and not a computer guy. I've got the idea from this wonderful greenhouse.

I have some updates for my project.

This is the entrance of the airport. Airport link trains are moving by along with traffic on elevated highway:

Now, it time for fun driving around the airport. I made elevated highway a hard surface so you can drive your car in FS9 to the airport. My ferrari is in this video (Hamaguchi's car).

I have been trying to get hard surfaces in fs9, makin a destryer. but i add the concrete platform and it is still soft. What am i doing wrong

wow- I cant imagine how long youve worked on this Its unbelieveable
Yes, indeed. It took "Armi" who make this original scenery a year to do that. But something was not right and the frame rate is too poor to make it "unflyable". I just adopted this project and make dream come true. What I done is interior of the airport but his work is exterior. I think it will took me another 2-3 months to accomplish this. For sure, you cannot do scenery all of you spare time. You have to do something else like lawn mowing (Don't do this, it will make you crazy if you spend all you spare time working on scenery). New runways will come with phase2 terminal which I don't know how they are going to be. So it will be unrealistic if I make new runways without new terminal. Let's the real things happen before we do them will be much easier.

Please be aware that I'm not the only one who make this scenery. Actually, Armi have been working on this but I adopted his work and add more detail. Quite frankly, I think it is almost impossible to do all these things all alone by yourself. I think it is cool to have team to do with. If you don't, the project will end without any successs and no release since it will take time too much almost forever and you will get bored. I'm new in scenery design but I've seen many projects ended up like that even some of myself. Hope you guys have your team and work together. It will be possible to make big airport more detail.

Hello,

I downloaded your demo and am very impressed. I bad mouthed the scenery over in the AES request section at Aerosoft several months ago for it being payware and so poor. You did a great job with the fixes! So far based on the quick 5 minutes looking at the scenery, I have found the ramp ground textures to be better than before but grass and dirt areas still need work thw arial image is just too blurry and lacke detail.

Other then that, more car traffic an some static and moving ramp vechiles will help too.

I only slewed so I will try flying around and see what average frames I will get. The glass is beautiful, love the revolving doors as well. I will give further feedback this weekend when I have more time to really look at it.

Wow! I feel like a beta tester!! Cool!

Cheers!
