• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Good evenning gentleman's

I have god a big Problem.
My Airport vienna is nearly finished, everything with GP and the taxilights with effects, cause the GP.

When im landing i have only 5-7fps, cause all the effects. (All effects are reduced to distance=500.00, 500.00 or less)

is there any other way to get the lights or got more fps?

Use the "One/One" texture method, not effects, that's why you have low FPS.

MipMaps are made with image tool or I make mine also with my GIMP DDS plugin.
 
OK thought thats something like a Minimap of the hole Airport :banghead:

Did i think right that the mipmap is a part of the object?
Cause i cant found it. I use Sketchup and ModelConverterX

in MCX there are only this textures
Bump-, Detail-, Diffuse-, Fresnel-, Reflection- and Specular texture is something of them the mipmap?

or where i must else enter the mipmap?
 
Mipmaps are parts of your texture. Load your texture into Image Viewer click on image then click on add mipmaps. FS will use them when it displays your objects.
 
I think I wrote it down how to change mipmaps.
You just scale down your texture with photoshop to fit the size that mipmaps use. Then use ImageTool to incorporate into your texture. It will replace the same size mipmap. Then save it.
