• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Terminal Glass

Hey guys, having a small problem here... No matter what I do, I can just not seem to get this to work correctly! (I am licensing FSDT Add-on manager so I am using MDL's instead of bgl's not that it matters... I do not believe.) Basically I have a mdl with all interior and exterior parts excluding glass... the glass is in a seperate mdl file, and what happens is, The glass will only appear at a certain view angle for some reason... Right now with the material settings, with the transparent glass, if I have Z-Write Alpha enabled the interior behind the glass disappears, but if I have it disabled the interior doesn't disappear, yet the glass does.... Here are some photos to help out with seeing what I am talking about.... Been at this for hours and can't seem to figure it out, so any recommendations are welcome!

Why would you put it in as a separate mdl?

If is suddenly disappears sounds like a bounding box error.

Put a plane larger than the glass one under the ground, flat with the ground (parallel) with no_crash on, and texture it with the same texture. Try that. Should increase the bounding box size.

Or just include the glass in with the terminal...

More issues arise when it is all within the same mdl file! I have tried the hidden plane, but have not assigned it the same texture... I will go ahead and try that. Any other suggestions?

Edit: Tried the suggesting with the hidden plane underground with the same texture, still the issue is there with the glass!

Glass transparency is a big headache. I think inside should no have Z testing and should be default opaque. Glass is default transparent.
