• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Texture blurred after converting long objects.

Hi guys,

I have some problems with my scenery (as you might have seen already from my variety of posts :P) and I think I have found the biggest problem.

If I use Sketchup for modelling and the object is too long, the texture gets all distorted after conversion in MCX.

This is the model in Sketchup. It only has an Asphalt texture applied to it.

After I use the GP Wizard in MCX it looks like this.

Anything I miss here? I can understand that the surfaces are just too big. But whats a workaround? Should I split the runway in many objects?

Best regards

Hi,

I don't see blurry things in your screenshot, but I see missing triangles. That is a know issue in the GPW. If you cut your polygon in SketchUp in a few segments that should be solved.

You get those errors because your GP is way toooooo long!

Here is what you have to do:

OBSERVATION: You must split your initial picture in many many little ones. Depending on how long your e.g. Runway is, you might have to split that picture in <100x100 rectangles. It's a trial and error thing. Those errors appear because of the "round earth" thing.

Thank you so much guys!! It worked with the thing Arno said.

Ty Gerald, I will watch that video! :)
