Today is Microsoft E3 Presentation

The streaming is at 4pm ET / 1pm PT on 6/9/19 and will be Xbox only... but what if they announce a new Flight Simulator?
I will not hold my breath but... who knows..?

Amazing.... :) game changer.

IF.............. IF... If they make it to work on NORMAL computers, they will have a gold mine. If it will not work on regular computers, I think it will be a rerun of FSX and fail. :( Hopefully Microsoft learned from the past and are here to make a winner for 'everyone'.

Will the FSX platform/engine be the same so we can continue to develop for P3D and FSX? I hope so. I figure they will have true PBR and more....

Well, just today I announced my decision changing to X-Plane 11 at the end of this year...
However, as far as I understand the sim will be using Azure Cloud in order to prevent massive texture overload locally. This smells a bit like FlightSim as a service where you have to pay as you use it or based on an annual fee (just a guess).

Hopefully the "new one" will be easily accessible to all developers.
That's how I interpreted the first incoming information as they promised to listen to the community. Well, unfortunately there was no word about any compatibility to existing SDKs.

And there will not be any word further on anything about it until August. Do like us and get yourself a pail of popcorn in the meantime.

I wouldnt jump to wild conclusions. Wait and see before thinking negative. Lets see what they have. So far, it looks mind blowing.

That is a TON of data for a computer, all those textures. Its good thinking on their behalf. Genious.
