• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Unable to update ADE?

I can't seem to update ADE to the latest version using the Help>Check for Updates tool.

I installed the "Main" 1.45.06 file from the website onto my Win7 Ultimate 64-bit system. Checking for updates results in a 3 second "pause", but nothing more.

I uninstalled, manually deleted the leftover directories, then reinstalled. But that was no help.

I also tried "run as admistrator", without effect.

I tried running the update tool outside of ADE, but it looks like support was dropped for that, as it tells me to close it and run updates from within ADE.

Any ideas?

Do you have a firewall that is stopping the request?
 
I'll double check the settings, but I've never had trouble updating before. I had to reinstall because I suddenly got a strange error when opening ADE. It said something about not being able to use Invoke until the form had been created, or something to that effect.

Rebooting didn't help, so I uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried to update. That's when I ran into the second issue.

The invoke problem is seen now and again. Re-starting ADE usially solved it. If you are still unable to get the 1.46.02 update there is a copy on the download center. www.downloadcenter.scruffyduck.org.uk. You will find it in the ADE9X Current Version Folder

The 1.45 to 1.46 update file from the website worked, and now the automatic update feature is working just fine again.
