• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

unknown animations issue, help?

hi, everyone! been working on my A300 over the past year and when i test export it to MCX (version 1.60 from 2023) it doesn't recognize the animation and the thrust reverser pushes the fuselage forward. i am in the process of reformatting the textures so that mcx and the sim reads it (hadn't generated an aircraft folder for this jet yet). how do i fix this? could this be because i renamed alot of the animation tags? i only renamed it to keep track of what i was animating:

The animations are good in 3ds max 2022 . however, the modeldef i use is different from what mcx reads . typically the animations would read anything i put in the modeldef in mcx, before this but they differ now. codes such as r_spoiler_key reads different but it used to read in mcx before. how do i get MCX to read this?

Animations at 154 keyframe in 3ds Max 2022:

You must include all the default animation tags found in the supplied modeldef file in your file. Basically, you should be adding to the default file, not creating an entirely new one.

Thanks! I will attempt to add to the default file

I fixed the modelconverterx problem. now the flaps, nosegear , fuselage still detaches, amongst other problems, persist. what should be fixed/reworked here? i fixed the elevators and now it animates. the flaps & slats don't animate properly even if i tagged it to the linked part(s). also, what does restricted animation export mean?

The flaps have jack motors to help them extend. but it isn't read in 3ds max
