• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi guys, Have been using sbuilderx to make photo scenery for my fsx, things are going well with that ,but when i come to a new airport and cover it with photo scenery, sometimes the edges of the photo scenery runways and taxiways stick out of the edge of the default runways, they arent quite lined up correctly, so at the advice,of Arno i have downloaded FSX Planner,i havent used it yet ,but was hoping someone could give me a quick step by step, as how to, basically move the default airport or runways so they line up over the top of the photoscenery runways, can this be done with fsx planner, and if so what are the basic steps to make this happen, thanks again any help would be appreciated
Best regards,Tom

To move an airport in FSX Planner, you first need to know the coordinates of the new location of the center of the airport. Then, in FSXP, you need to go to Options>Move Airport and enter the new coordinates there.

For example, if I want to move the center of KLAX (Los Angeles Intl. Airport), which is identified by a pink circle, or you can click on Options>Return to Center, to, let's say, 34 degrees N and 117 degrees W, then I go to Move Airport and type in the coordinates. This will move the airport to the new location, including taxiways, runways, parkings, taxi signs, etc. Keep in mind that this won't update the approach data with the new coordinates, and you need to do this manually.

If you want to move a runway, then first make sure the runway is unlocked (A unlock sign is displayed in the bottom half of the details on the left side, and the coordinate field background color is white). Now, just drag the runway to the new location, or type in the coordinates and press enter. Keep in mind that this will not update the taxi paths, taxi nodes, and taxiway signs. You need to adjust those appropriately.

Hope this helped you.

Also bear in mind that if you move an airport you will need to check any approaches since they will be affected by any runway movements,
