Using google image as a plan

#1
I have done this before to obtain the base image to draw up from in max12, unfortunately it was a long while ago and the little grey cells aren't what they were. could someone tell me the best way of doing this. I would like to create a model of the tower of London for xp11. I've got all the export working, this is a bit more complex so I need a base image.

Does that make sense?

thanks

You need to capture the image from Google by this website http://www.ludowise.x10host.com/gmaps/rhumbamaps.html
Then it will tell you the coordinate of the 4 corners and the center.
You need to calculate how far it is in meters in MCX by putting the center coordinate and the corners. The you make a plane with the width you got from MCX and map that picture into that plane.
You can read the detail how to do it in part one of my tutorial: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Ground_Poly_Tutorial_for_the_year_2014+
