• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

VGDS Tweaker

Thanks Arno~
i have already finish the modeling and texturing, but this is the first time i try to make some animational object, so i need many help~
I really don't know how the script work~ do i need some program to set the animation of the model to teach it change the display, or just need the VGDS Tweaker? Or the VGDS Tweaker is just the program help me the align the VGDS system~
many questions~ :D

Hi,

Yes, VGDSTweaker is only a tool I made to make the placement of all the docking systems in the scenery easier. But it will not help you in creating the system.

But I have also made a tutorial about that. It explains how you can tweak the code to get an interactive docking system. If you have questions about it, just ask in the forum. But some understanding of the ASM format is probably needed to get through this tweaking process.

but firstly i need to learn how to shift with different texture, like STOP, TOO FAR~~~ / . \
can the GMAX help me too do this?
i have already finish the model and texture~
thz~~~

Hi,

I did all that shifting in the source code. So I have one big texture that contains all different variants and then in the code I change the texture mapping to the value needed (as explained in the tutorial).

You can't do that from GMax directly. So it is indeed very important that you have finished your model in GMax before you start tweaking. As each export from GMax will usually overwrite your tweaks, so you have to add them again.
