• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Since one or two days I have the impression that the website is a bit slower again. Do others also have that feeling?

Very slow here at times. 7:15 am Chicago time, and it's crawling. 3members 3180 guests. Yesterday it was fast with over 17000 guests.

I am checking on the server what is going on. It seems that this time the Wiki is getting a lot of traffic (probably AI again).

I have temporarily taken the wiki offline now and the speed is directly back to normal. Now let me find a way to limit the resource usage by the wiki.

Again, very slow today  Everything takes 30 seconds. Including loading the emoji.

It seems normal again now, but looking at the server resource usage over the past dat I do see heavy load before.

Maybe those AI bots also use an 8-hour working day :D. It is really the load on the wiki that gives issues now.

It was so slow yesterday that my browser timed out on two occasions and didn't connect. It's seems as fast as normal today though.

Ok, so still not solved then. I'll have to check the resource usage to see which requests are the issue.

I have made some changes to the wiki this morning again and it seems that has improved the performance quite a bit. But please keep us informed when it becomes slow again.

Just for your background, we have been seeing on average more than 1 million page views on the wiki per day this month. While before we maybe only had about 0.5 million per month. So there are some AI bots that are scrapping the wiki (do are often also requesting the change pages or other heavy requests on related changes and just). But I hope to have blocked them out enough with the latest changes.

Any chance AI agents are using it as a message board? That happened to someone's wiki in Germany, OpenAI's agents started using it as a message board...

I doubt that's, since anonymous users can't post on our wiki and accounts have to be made manually by us.
